Aurora Managed Services have just taken part in the Scotty’s Little Soldiers 10K, and what a day it was! Sixteen of Aurora’s incredible team members joined forces to support this amazing cause, raising money for children who have lost a parent serving in the Armed Forces.
“From the moment we arrived, the energy was high, and everyone was excited to take on the challenge ahead. With the beautiful yet demanding Chilterns as our backdrop, we knew we were in for a tough but rewarding race. And tough it was—plenty of hills made it feel like a Tough Mudder at times! But that didn’t slow us down” reports Bree van Zyl, Direct Marketing Mgr at Aurora.
A huge shoutout to Ross Matthews, who absolutely smashed it! Ross came 3rd overall in the men’s category, crossing the finish line in just 55 minutes. He was the first from the Scotty’s Little Soldiers group to finish, setting a fantastic pace for the rest of the team to follow!
But this event wasn’t just about speed. It was about teamwork and camaraderie. Whether running or walking, every participant had someone by their side, offering encouragement and support throughout the course. As each runner approached the finish line, the cheers from the team were deafening! It was a true display of togetherness and community spirit, and every single runner finished with a big smile on their face (even if the legs were a little tired!).
“Aside from the physical achievement, we’re proud to say we’ve nearly reached our goal of £2000 for Scotty’s Little Soldiers. The support we’ve received so far has been incredible, and we couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who has donated. If you haven’t had a chance to contribute yet, donations are still open until Friday. Every little bit helps make a difference in the lives of bereaved military children” added Bree.
“The day was full of laughs, encouragement, and a shared sense of accomplishment. It wasn’t just about the race—it was about supporting a great cause, working together as a team, and having a bit of fun along the way. We are so proud of our Aurora runners and the support from everyone who contributed to this event” Bree concluded.
To all those who participated, donated, or cheered us on from the sidelines, the Aurora team want to say a massive thank you!
