Expanding Horizons: Agilico’s strategic acquisition builds on growth plans

Agilico, a national operation that has been on an impressive growth trajectory for the past decade or more, is proud to announce its latest strategic move – the acquisition of YourDMS Limited (YDMS). This marks the eleventh acquisition backed by Horizon Capital, a testament to Agilico’s dedication to a wider growth strategy that encompasses not only business expansion but also sustainability and customer-centric innovation.

Agilico, which has 500 people across 17 UK sites, has built an extensive network of more than 14,000 customers, all of whom share a common mission – building organisations fully equipped for success in the face of rapid and continuous change.

Agilico is developing new facilities across several of its key strategic UK sites with a presence from the southwest of England, near Southampton where it has its headquarters, to Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, and all the way up to Inverness in Scotland. It recently established new premises in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, the main centre of its northern operation, with a new refurbishment facility and a recruitment drive. This national remit allows the business to work closely with its customer base and reduces the transportation requirements for moving its refurbished multifunction devices.

The recent acquisition of YourDMS Limited (YDMS) is a strategic move that dovetails seamlessly with Agilico’s overall growth strategy. YDMS, a long-standing reseller of Invu document management, aligns perfectly with Agilico’s earlier acquisition of Invu, the manufacturer of document management and accounts payable software, in November 2021. This strategic synergy now allows end-user customers to access a deeper level of technical knowledge and experience in the product.

In addition to strategic acquisitions as part of its growth strategy, Agilico also has a vision for a net zero future, with a net zero 2030 commitment. This is important because it impacts the business’ philosophy hugely. Agilico’s drive to reduce carbon and improve energy efficiency not only impacts their own people but also to its customers, partners, and supply chain. Agilico’s net-zero ambitions are deeply intertwined with its overarching growth strategy, positively impacting every facet of its operations.

In relation to this new acquisition, Simon Davey, CEO of Agilico, expressed his enthusiasm about this move, saying, “We have worked with YDMS for many years through our indirect channel, so we know the business and its customers well. This is an opportunity for us to expand the customer relationships with new products and ideas and to bring them closer to the Invu community.”

Beverly Wright, who has been an integral part of YDMS, conveyed her confidence in the Agilico team, remarking, “Simon listened and understood what we as a family wanted to achieve for our customers and staff after many years of hard work, and we completely trust him and the rest of the Agilico team to honour those commitments.”

Martin Squier, Partner at Horizon Capital, added, “This acquisition complements Agilico’s strategy to invest in its fast-growing software and consulting division, and we welcome all of our new colleagues and customers.”

Agilico operates in three core divisions: Agile Print, Agile Tech, and Agile Docs, with a relentless focus on customer service that has earned them a Trustpilot rating of 4.9 and an average customer relationship of 16 years. This acquisition, alongside their broader growth strategy, showcases Agilico’s dedication to enhancing their capabilities and further serving their ever-expanding customer base.

In a world characterised by continuous change, Agilico’s vision for growth, sustainability, and innovation stands as a testament to their commitment to making work easier and more efficient for their customers. With an eye toward the future, Agilico’s holistic approach to business expansion is not just about growing in size but also growing in purpose and positive impact.
