Lisa Matthews, Marketing Assistant, directprint.io
When did you first join the print sector and what attracted you?
I joined directprint.io in September 2022. Having previously worked in the tech industry I had enjoyed working closely with software companies, and coming from a more creative background, wanted to improve my technical skills – directprint.io felt like the perfect place to expand my interest and skills.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Marketing really allows you to combine creativity with problem solving; you’re always involved in different areas of thinking and you’re always doing something different every day. I enjoy tackling different projects and then moving on to what’s next.
What’s the best bit of business advice you’ve been given?
Take the opportunity even if you don’t think you’re ready for it – everything can be a learning experience.
What would make your day job easier?
Having two extra heads! Marketing, especially the creative side, really requires you to trade ideas and look at things from so many different angles – even having a double of myself to talk down some of the more out-there ideas would be beneficial!
Which company do you most admire outside of our industry?
Probably Lego, as it has evolved into so much more than just a toy company for children – they have something for everyone of any age and is even being used as a teaching tool. I even use it as decoration in my house!
What excites you most about the future?
Taking on different challenges and using constantly evolving software to achieve our goals. The idea that we are still at the very beginnings of what technology can do – where it can go in the future and the ability to better people’s lives and make it more enjoyable.
